Why search online?

Online searching is the common way most of us find answers to our questions. Because we are online for other reasons, it is easy for us to do any research we need about any topic or question we have online. We just ask the question in the search box of our favourite search engine and wait for the results.

We have learned how to refine our searches to finally get to the answers we are looking for.

The role of online business?

If your business does not have an online website, you are eliminated from all of this searching. But your competitors are not. If you can't be found online, they will find and go to your competitors most of the time.

If your website does not answer the questions these searchers are looking for, they will move on. And if they move on most likely they will buy some where else (with a competitor).

Your business needs to be found online and locally too (local search). Remember if they don't find you they will find your competitors. Is that what you want and can you afford to have that happen to your business?

Why do people go online?

There are many different answers to that question depending upon who you are talking about. If you are talking about kids it is one answer and if you are talking about adults there is a different answer. What if we talk about business owners? Again a potentially different answer.

So the answer depends upon the population being discussed. But here we are most interested in adults and why they go online. With over 70% of Americans online, that is a very large population.

And you need to understand what they do online especially if you own a business and are considering developing an online presence.
